About Learning Materials

Welcome to Learning Materials by STEM Zone! We produce VCE trial exams and resources across a broad range of science and maths subjects, including Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, General Maths and Maths Methods.

Learning Materials has been operating for more than 30 years, originally the brainchild of Wayne PrickettB.App.Sc.(Chem), Dip. Ed., Grad. Dip. R.E, an enterprising and talented VCE Chemistry teacher who was based at St Columba’s College in Essendon.

Phillipa Hall held the torch for many years until the company was acquired by STEM Zone in July 2024.

At STEM Zone, our mission is to connect with the community and empower students and educators to foster their creativity and curiosity about the world around them. We are your local STEM Education Specialists that offers in-person programs and a suite of resources to support teachers and students in the classroom. We value learning and offer every opportunity for young people to grow and extend themselves in a safe environment.

The tradition of excellence prevails in the ethos of the company, and in the highly-valued study aids we produce for Learning Materials.

All of our products are very competitively priced and annual releases comply with current study designs, offering an invaluable suite of learning aids that are of benefit to students and teachers alike. Our writers are all practising teachers who have many years of experience with the VCE curriculum.

Our exams are designed not only to prime students on what they might expect in the official VCE examination but also as a broader learning tool, with many instructive drawings and extended answers. All are available in electronic versions for ease of sharing with your students.

We like to think we are putting something back into education, providing a means for students to practise and perfect their exam technique, and also adding a valuable resource to teachers’ toolkits.
